Roberto Orci signed on to direct the 3rd installment to the Star Trek franchise last year after J.J. Abrams left to do this little project called Star Wars Episode 7. Orci had previously written the first two Star Trek films, but has no director experience. No reason given yet why he dropped out, but the franchise will be on the hunt for a new director…
